Derek Housman has been online since the early days of the internet. His first computer was a Macintosh that he used every day until he destoryed it by hitting too many buttons at once.
He graduated to a PC and learned how to dial BBS boards in between getting knocked off the shared phone line.
His posts on those long forgotten boards still haunt him to this day.
Shifting his sights towards filmmaking, he has been making videos since the age of 10. His first video was a set of fake commercials with his sister, a tape he continues to taunt her with to this day. He worked his way through high school at a local video store where he watched way too many dumb comedies and not enough classics. He continued his love for making movies by working on over 30 short films in college, culminating in attempting to create his own TV series well before the internet knew what WebTV was. After a very brief stint in New York, he worked in a bookstore until realizing no movies were made there and hopped a flgiht to Los Angeles
He has worked in various fields, such as motion picture development, reality television, and new media. Ultiamtly leaving the circus behind and going back to his first love, working in tech.
What I’m Into
I build systems to understand things — whether that’s photography, films, or how to function as an adult. I use 3rd party websites when applicable, but also like to invest time in figuring out what the best solution to tracking these things are.

Movies I love, track, and overanalyze.

Books that take me to another place

TV Shows that keep me entertained.

3D Printing!

Cooking!
